Collier Cup 2003 Round 4

04 July 2003

Four teams started this evening event, run by Steve Stone, who had stated that this was going to be for all the newcomers so they could actually find a hidden station! Well, no newcomers turned up, at least not on their own; Gerry Sheppard arrived in Peter Lisle's car (though he did have a set in hand).

The signal at the start was fair but not blowing ones ears off. Most teams arrived around the Greys Court area on the third transmission, which was not that strong. After taking another bearing and driving around Greys Court, we found Steves car. After running through a large wood and climbing up a steep hill, the fourth transmission came on which took a direct path across two large fields and into a smaller wood. Three teams ran around until (yes - you've guessed it!) Peter Lisle found Steve under a holly bush. The other teams soon followed in with Gerry operating his set to gain experience.

That's what an easy DF is like at Mid Thames?
