2007 GT Peck Memorial Trophy

01 April 2007

This year's GT Peck event was held on the top half of OS map 164 (Oxford) with a new start at Stoke Wood, near Cherwell Valley services on the M40.

Fourteen teams gathered on a bright and sunny April Fools' Day. Two good signals were received. Station A (G4XWP, Colin) was 22 km west of the start by a small stream on the Oxfordshire Way, about 1 km south of the village of Chadlington. Station B (G3UJO, Peter) was 16 km in a southerly direction, again by a small stream, 2 km east of Horton cum Studley.

Eleven teams found both stations. This was good as it was estimated that it would take about an hour to travel between the stations. Tea was held at the Royal Oak in Oakley where a revived professional called Brian Bristow was presented with the GT Peck trophy.
