2012 Gage-Tyler Cup Round 6

15 August 2012

Five competitors started from Maidenhead Thicket. I confused one competitor straight away as I was using my own crystal of 1907kHz and not regular 1950kHz. [his set had not yet been aligned to lower frequency].

The signal was fine and no sky wave, so the bearings were reasonable with some spot on. I did manage to tempt one person with my dummy length of twine into the bushes but he soon realised his error and found me against a tree at side of a bog approx 1 mile NE of Princes Risborough.

PS. One person who will remain anonymous was seen running along in the dark with his torch on, only to suddenly disappear into deep reed grasses. He did reappear eventually, hence all five found Tx.
