This event took place on a beautiful June evening. Nobody heard a signal at the start so we were given an approximate bearing of 170 degrees with an approximate distance of 15 km. This indicated somewhere south of Henley. I pulled in near Peppard Common at 8pm and was joind by Roger and John in the same layby. I went to the east and they both went south. We converged on the site, close to the Bottle and Glass pub at Binfield Heath, at about the same time. I knew the wood very well having run a station there some years ago. This didn't help me because I trusted my (inaccurate) bearings rather than running to the only area of cover in the place.
Roger found Steve first (this is getting to be a habit!) followed by John and me. Needless to say, we met at the pub and had a pleasant chat.
